Restaurants and shops
around villa perla in piemonte

Where to shop, eat a good pizza and have an aperitivo!

Here you can find a list of our favorite restaurants, supermarkets, stores and wineshops. Keep in mind that during the high season a lot of supermarkets and stores are open on Sunday but still close for lunchtime.

Enjoy our research; we did too 🙂

Butchers (Costigliole d’Asti):

For BBQ meat and nice cold cuts you can go to:

Good to know is that in both places you can also order in advance via their websites ;-).

Bakeries (Costigliole d’Asti):

There are several in the village and in the Conad supermarket, which is not closed during lunch and open on Sundaymorning, you also find a lot of bread in the bakery. Also in the Spar supermarket (Il quadrifoglio in Piana del Salto) you find nice bread and everything you might have forgotten… They are both open on sunday morning.

Pharmacy (Boglietto + Costigliole d’Asti):

The pharmacies in Boglietto (7 min) and Costigliole d’Asti are very well equipped and professional. In Boglietto they speak French and a bit of English as well and they are very used to google translate so don’t worry to use this while you are there.

Cheese store or Caseificio:

Do you like burrata, fresh yogurt, all kinds of fresh and artisanal cheeses then definately stop at Caseificio “Pepe 1924″.  in costigliole d’Asti. They are located on the main road towards Villa Perla, right before you drive into the vineyards and there is a cow standing outside. You can give them a call as well to order in advance. Also follow their facebook or instagram page; they cater beautiful weddings in spectacular places.

Supermarkets:

Here you will find everything you need:

In both supermarkets they are extremely friendly and helpfull.

In Canelli you have a Lidl and a lot of other supermarkets such as an Eurospin etc

Other stores:

In Costigliole you find IL CORSETTO Di Ambrosone Maria if you need a new bathingsuit or underwear.

Also in the village next to the winebar you can buy your new quality sunglasses or lenses at Ottica Ricci. They also have a nice instagram account where you can check out their collection.

Winebars & aperitivo

In the cities and towns you find them everywhere…

In Costigliole d’Asti we have Vino Enobottega Wine Tasting  nearby the castle. They also have nice taglieri with cold cuts and cheeses. You can walk around the Castle in the garden and behind it there is also a playground.

In Santo Stefano Belbo you can have a nice glass of wine or a good aperitivo Bar Roma. When it’s hot and sunny you can sit covered under the arcades.

Restaurants

For a GOOD PIZZA closeby you go to Pizzeria & Restaurant Luna Rossa. It’s just a 7 min drive and behind the spar supermarket with a big parking lot in front; they also have very nice seafood and you can also order take away pizza. Make a reservation via 0141 853346 or 333 201 6262  in the high season. They open at 19.00 which is early over here.

In agriturismo Costa Dei Tigli in Costigliole d’Asti you can find the tyical piemontese kitchen in a very nice athmosphere. You can sit outside under the trees when the weather is nice and enjoy the view on the vineyards (and the mountains on a clear day). Also perfect for a lunch or pranzo al lavoro (from Monday to Friday – around 15 euro for 2 courses with a side dish. You can choose of a fixed daily menu with fresh ingredients). Their meat (vitello / steak) is also delicious and you can buy their wines one the spot.

These 2 restaurants are very child friendly.

In Calosso, of which you can see the tower across the swimming pool, you will find:

Both are nice places with the the typical Piemontese culinairy dishes and very friendly staff en it’s a five min drive to the charming village.

Over here in Calosso you also have a local bar, pasticceria e bottega Bar Ges; it has a small playground next to it and you can have a coffee or Aperol while children play…

In Agliano Therme you have

  • Osteria La Milonga which is perfect for lunch and dinner. a bit further in the same street you have
  • Al Gatto Verde which is very nice and cosy. Make sure to call in advance. This is a 15 min drive through the vineyards.

TIP: do not take the white gravell roads (strade Biance) towards Agliano Therme, Mombercelli,… Make sure you always drive on concrete streets around the house. Bricco Quaglia (our street) ends up in a steep part within the vineyards. So better take Strada Communale Carlina which runs parallel with Strada Bricco Quaglia :-). This is across QIMISOLA who already won a lot of prices with their wines!
